"Through the Sacrament of Baptism we are initiated into Christ's holy Church. We are incorporated into God's mighty acts of salvation and given new birth through water and the Spirit. All this is God's gift, offered to us without price." If you desire to learn more about baptism or want to be baptized, we encourage you to contact Pastor Wesley Gately at

Small Group ministries are such an important way to grow in your faith and be together in a small group community. Right now, we have two groups that meet:

  • Thursday Small Group: This group meets every Thursday (off in the summer) in the church sanctuary from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Pastor Wes leads this group and leads a discussion based on Bible passages. If you are looking for a small group of people to connect with on a weekly basis, this is for you!

  • Men's Group: The men's group meets at Bridge Way Restaurant in Smyrna from 8:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. on the third Saturday of the month. It is a time of fellowship, prayer, and building one another up through small group discussions.

United Methodist Women

Faith • Hope • Love in Action We are women with a Purpose! "United Methodist Women (UMW) shall be a community of women whose purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative, supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church." We have a very active UMW at Kenton; if you are interested in joining or have questions, please let us know. This group meets the 1st Tuesday of each month at the Kenton Ruritan Club at 7pm.  All ladies are welcome to attend.

Becoming A Member

We offer membership classes in the spring and in the fall. New member classes are taught in three consecutive weeks (typically Sunday afternoons) and attendance is required at all three sessions. If you are interested in becoming a member, or have any questions about what membership means, please contact Pastor Wes.

Code Purple Shelter

Code purple is a shelter for those who are out in the cold on evenings with freezing temperatures. There is a men's shelter at Centennial UMC in Smyrna.   If you would like to help by donating your time at the shelter, food, clothing, etc. please contact us at the church and we will help you learn more!
