This is a Zoom event for Delaware District UM Churches to recap Delaware Faith and Housing Justice Weekend on December 9-11. The presentation includes:

• Remarks and information from Rev. Kevin Smith, CEO of Habitat for Humanity of New Castle County

• Remarks and information from Rabbi Sonya Starr, Policy Director, Housing Alliance Delaware

• Remarks and information from a community member with lived experience (TBA)

The above remarks are suitable for Senior High School students, College students, and adults. Following the above remarks, we encourage youth groups to adjourn to their UMYF rooms for an age-appropriate discussion.

Pastors and their worship committees are encouraged to consider focusing on the Social Principles and Scripture concerning housing and homelessness on the morning of December 11th, and then to promote the zoom meeting, either on-site or in congregants’ homes, for the evening. (FYI: Rev. Smith already is committed to speak on the topic that morning at Newark UMC.)
